Most people believe that stress leads to premature graying and hair loss. Is it really possible? Let’s determine the reality. Experts are of opinion that we frequently don’t recognize the stressors in our day to day life. It is a perennial myth that stress is closely associated with hair loss. Therefore, people have started to trust.

When a person is under stress, his/her body begins to give signs in a different method. In some people, hair loss is the signal of stress. Types of hair loss that can be associated with stress:

  • Alopecia areata also called spot baldness is a health condition where a person loses patches of baldness. Psychological stress is considered to be one of the probable causes of alopecia areata. In this sort of hair loss, white blood cells start attacking hair follicle and stop hair growth.
  • Telogen effluvium is a less severe kind of hair loss wherein, hair stops growing and falls out after two or three weeks. However, they grow back within 6 to 9 months. In telogen effluvium, psychological and psychological pressure takes hair into resting phase. The negative and uncomfortable feelings such as stress, fatigue, anxiety, loneliness, tension, and frustration are some of its causes.

Stress isn’t permanent and so is your hair loss that stems-out because of stress. Therefore if you think that your cause of hair loss is stress then work on anxiety rather than getting treatment for baldness.

Hair loss isn’t directly associated with stress. If you’re under stress then you’re less likely to eat correctly, not become adequate quantity of sleep and lose weight. All such aspects can lead to an imbalance in the body. When you see that your hair is thinning or to falling then immediately consult your physician. Besides anxiety, there are quite a few other possible reasons for hair loss. A number of them being:

  • Major operation.
  • High Stress.
  • Acute infections.
  • Low estrogen level, especially posts childbirth.
  • A rigorous low-calorie diet.
  • Birth control pills.

Sometimes even a small amount of anxiety can bring many changes in your body’s routine psychological wellbeing. The connection of baldness and stress still stay a debatable issue.
